Family Van Medical Cost Savings Reported in Health Affairs

Health Affairs recently published a report on The Family Van’s contribution to cost savings associated with mobile clinic care. The article, “Mobile Clinic in Massachusetts Associated with Cost Savings from Lowering Blood Pressure and Emergency Department Use,” follows 5900 patients over two years and estimates cost savings related to lowered blood pressure and decreased use of emergency services. Co-authors include HMS student Zirui Song, GHSM Associate Caterina Hill, Family Van Executive Director Jennifer Bennet, Callen-Lorde Community Health Center Director of Medicine Anthony Vavasis (New York), and HMS Associate Professor Nancy Oriol.
