Amalie Moses Kass, MEd, is a historian. Among her many writings are two books: she authored Midwifery and Medicine in Boston: Walter Channing, M.D., 1786-1876 and co-authored Perfecting the World: The Life and Times of Thomas Hodgkin, MD.
Dr. Katz is a lecturer in the Department of Global Health and Social Medicine and teaches cross-cultural care in the residency program, Department of Medicine, Cambridge Health Alliance. Her main research interests include the culture of medicine, qualitative methods in multicultural mental health, disparities in vulnerable populations, newborn health and social change, and ageism and stereotyping. Dr.
Vanessa Kerry is the director of the Program in Global Public Policy and Social Change in the Department of Global Health and Social Medicine at Harvard Medical School. The program helps examine the underutilization of healthcare as a tool to address economic, social, and cultural disparities that define poor health domestically and internationally. Dr.
Associate Professor of Global Health and Social Medicine
Dr. Keshavjee is an associate professor in the Department of Global Health and Social Medicine and Department of Medicine at Harvard Medical School, and Director of Harvard Medical School’s Center for Global Health Delivery–Dubai. He also serves as a physician in the Division of Global Health Equity at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
Professor of Medical Anthropology in the Department of Social Medicine
Kleinman is professor of medical anthropology in the Department of Global Health and Social Medicine and professor of psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. He is the Esther and Sidney Rabb professor of anthropology in the Department of Anthropology in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences (FAS), and was appointed the Victor and William Fung director of Harvard University’s Asia Center from 2008–2016. In 2011, Arthur Kleinman was appointed as a Harvard College Professor and received the 2011 Harvard Foundation Distinguished Faculty Award.
