Russell S. Phillips, M.D., is director of the Center for Primary Care and the William Applebaum professor of medicine and professor of global health and social medicine. He is a devoted primary care general internist at BIDMC where he cares for 300 patients, many of whom he has known for more than 20 years. He has been a leader in innovation in care, developing new models for patients with chronic illness, and for preventing hospital readmissions.
Dr. Podolsky is Professor of Global Health and Social Medicine at Harvard Medical School and a primary care physician at Massachusetts General Hospital. Since 2006, he has served as the director of the Center for the History of Medicine based at the Countway Medical Library.
Dr. Podolsky graduated summa cum laude from Harvard College with a bachelor's degree in history and science. He graduated magna cum laude from Harvard Medical School.
