His current research focuses on quantifying the burden of non-communicable diseases and injuries in the poorest billion people as part of the Lancet NCDI Commission. Previously, he worked on demographic estimation and risk factor attribution for the Global Burden of Disease project at the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation, where he obtained his MPH in Global Health Metrics and Evaluation from the University of Washington.
