GLOBAL HEALTH & SOCIAL MEDICINE
Dr. Ruth Peters is a visiting research fellow in the Department of Global Health and Social Medicine at Harvard Medical School and a post-doctoral researcher and lecturer at the Athena Institute, VU University Amsterdam. Her works seeks to understand and address health-related stigma. Her main research interests are: health-related stigma, inclusion, intersectionality, leprosy, disability, mental illness, participatory methods, mixed-methods and transdisciplinary research. Among her current projects, Ruth is working on a study that aims to advance stigma-reduction theory by integrating understandings on health-related stigma reduction from different scientific disciplines (anthropology, sociology, public health, social psychology and others).
