The Media and Medicine intensive will focus on the development of each participant’s health-related storytelling project.

The course is divided into three parts:

  1.  The program begins with five-day intensive. Prior to the first day, you will have identified a health-related problem you want to explore. Throughout the week, you will embark on a series of modules that will inspire, motivate and drive creativity. You will learn how to use a wide range of storytelling techniques, from poetry and essays to blogs, podcasts and YouTube videos to share stories that have an impact on the health field. These workshops will guide you to further refine your story and your medium to deliver a pitch that will define the requirements of your project.
  2. Following the first week of workshops, you will work with an established Harvard advisor to develop your project, crafting your own story.
  3. At the end of the Program, all course participants will reconvene for a final session at which individuals will present their project and have an opportunity to give and receive critiquing.

The Media and Medicine Initiative is honored to have a large number of Harvard-based faculty who will serve in the roles of course instructors and advisors to the program.
