A global health problem of a lack of assessable and affordable surgical care is vast, but Dr. John Meara, Steven C. and Carmella R. Kletjian Associate Professor of Global Health and Social Medicine in the field of Global Surgery, and his colleagues, together with The Lancet, are working tirelessly to identify and close the gap between knowing what the problem is and solving it. Recognizing the importance of this work, Harvard Magazine's, John Harvard's Journal, features an article in the July-August 2015 issue, titled "Surgery for All."
