Matthew Romo, PharmD, PhD, MPH

Research Fellow in Global Health and Social Medicine

Matthew Romo is a research fellow working with Dr. Molly Franke on drug-resistant tuberculosis treatment research in the Department of Global Health and Social Medicine at Harvard Medical School. He is a registered pharmacist and doctoral-trained epidemiologist. Immediately prior to joining Harvard, he was an investigator with the US Military HIV Research Program where he conducted research on global HIV prevention, treatment, and cure. He was born in Tucson, Arizona and is bilingual in English and Spanish. 

Matthew’s research focuses on leveraging robust epidemiologic methods to improve the evidence base for drug-resistant tuberculosis treatment. He also has a special interest in translating evidence into practice and applying implementation science frameworks and methods to address health inequities.
