Research Fellow in Global Health and Social Medicine

Dr. Bhamani is a nurse scientist with expertise in epidemiology and biostatistics. With over 17 years of experience, she has facilitated a wide range of courses including public health, mental health, epidemiology, biostatistics and research, to both undergraduate and graduate students. 

Being a nurse researcher, Dr. Bhamani has played a key role as Principal Investigator and Co-Investigator on several local, national, and international research grants. These grants funded by prestigious organizations such as the Aga Khan University Research Council (URC), The Department for International Development (DFID), Canadian Institute of Health Research (CIHR), Bill and Malinda Gates Foundation (BMGF), Aga Khan Foundation (AKF), Foreign commonwealth development office (FCDO), Right to Play (RTP) and the Queen Elizabeth Scholarship (QES), have ranged in value from $1000 to $1.5 million. Her contributions address pressing issues in global health, mental health and gender equality.

Dr Bhamani has 45+ peer-reviewed publications showcasing cutting-edge findings in the field of mental health, public health, violence against women and innovative research methodologies. She has a strong commitment to community engagement, particularly in working with underprivileged populations, including women and adolescent girls and boys.
