Apply to the Certificate Program

Media and Medicine Certificate Program | Next program: February 24–June 27, 2024

If you have questions about the application process, please feel free to contact us. If you wish to receive updates about the Media and Medicine Certificate Program, please sign up for our email list.

The Media and Medicine Certificate program is open to all passionate learners committed to improving health delivery across the globe. This course is designed for physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers on the front lines who desire to promote health through a range of media options. The program is also geared toward those who share similar interests and goals, such as health journalists, bioethicists, and anyone who works in the healthcare industry (such as administrators, pharmacists, researchers, and health educators) are welcome to apply. Applications are now open for our 2025 session. 

Application Requirements

  1. Online Application: The application requests information on the applicant's demographic data and contact information.
  2. Curriculum vitae/Résumé: Applicants are prompted to upload a .pdf file of their CV or resume.
  3. A Statement of Interest: Which health issue would you like to address and why? (500 words max.​​​​​). Successful applicants will write at least 300 words.
  4. What mode of storytelling would you like to use for this program and why? (500 words max.). Successful applicants will write at least 300 words.

The successful participant should be proficient in the English language.

Program Costs

The Media and Medicine certificate of participation program costs $6,000 and is payable in full seven (7) days from the date that a participant receives their letter of admission to the program.

Admitted applicants who accept a place in the Media and Medicine Certificate of Completion program will receive instructions on submitting program fees.

Program dates, fees, and faculty are subject to change. Our courses must meet minimum enrollment to run.

  • If a program is canceled, Harvard Medical School will refund the program fee in full but is not responsible for any other expenses incurred by the participant.
Refunds

We regret that we cannot provide refunds should an applicant register and then be unable to attend the program. Should the program be canceled due to insufficient enrollment, a full refund will be given. Notification of cancellation will be provided at least 30-days before the program’s start date.
