Rob Mancuso, MBA, MMSc '21
Boston, Massachusetts, USA
I initially became involved with Partners in Health and the MMSc-GHD program via my interest in helping those most in need in Haiti and Africa. As I learned more about PIH and the MMSc-GHD program through Joia and Paul’s guidance, I had the opportunity to delve much more deeply into the exceptional knowledge, value, and opportunities available.
Since I am an older student whose background is in Finance and Economics, I was excited to learn how I could help others in much more challenging circumstances. Eventually, I focused my thesis on helping those in most need who struggled with addiction, abuse, and poverty in Boston. Given my earlier background in Finance, one of my most important goals was to enable those who were incarcerated to access employment upon release from prison. I was fortunate to interview and learn from many individuals who offered critical guidance and nuance, adding substantial value to my thesis.
Lastly, I have been very fortunate for the opportunity to learn from the exceptional talent at HMS. The professors and staff are truly exceptional and are always available to guide and support. I am humbled by the talent of the MMSc-GHD students and the team’s compassion, especially during ‘crunch time’!
I continue to work in the Boston area and several countries in Africa.
