Mehreen is a Swedish Obstetrics and Gynecology specialist of Pakistani heritage. She completed her MB/BS from King Edward Medical University in Lahore, Pakistan, and currently works at Skåne University Hospital in Malmö, Sweden. At Lund University she focused her PhD on the role of umbilical cord blood sampling in predicting neurodevelopmental handicaps in infants later on in life.
Mehreen’s research interests center on maternal-fetal medicine and include umbilical cord blood gases, COVID-19 in pregnancy, fetal monitoring socio-economic determinants of health, quality of maternal healthcare services, maternal health advocacy, and strengthening Obstetric and Gynecological healthcare systems in low-resource settings. She is a recipient of the Fulbright Scholars Grant 2022-2023.
