Vanessa Dor, MD, MMSc
Vanessa Jaëlle Dor, MD, MMSc, DrPh candidate, is a pediatrician, global health practitioner, field epidemiologist, and Fulbright alumni. Currently, the Research director of The Bridge Project in New York, USA, she has worked as the Head of the M&E and Research department and Medical Coordinator at Saint-Damien Hospital, Haïti, for 5 years. Co-founder of the Medical Education and Research Unit, mentor and facilitator at the FETP-Haïti, her commitment to education extended to her roles as a mentor for pediatric and epidemiologic residents and healthcare practitioners. Currently serving as the Executive Secretary and Scientific Activities Coordinator for the National Technical and Consultant Immunization Group at the Haitian Ministry of Health, Dr. Dor is dedicated to advancing childhood vaccination initiatives to ensure they are accessible and sustainable for Haitian children.
Dr Dor received her medical degree and pediatric specialization from the State University of Haïti, and her master’s degree in Global Health Delivery from Harvard Medical School. She is currently completing a DrPH in Epidemiology at Columbia Mailman School of Public Health.
Initially focusing on maternal and child health and infectious diseases, Dr. Dor has broadened her research scope since 2021 to include the social and political determinants of health, health equity, migrant health, and global health. Her current research endeavors utilize mixed-method methodology, implementation science, and policy research to enhance healthcare access and quality for marginalized populations.
